Tribe appreciation

My wife is a Disney World fanatic. I am by default.

Don’t let me fool you, I enjoy the rides, the food, the memories, and the grounds (how do they keep their landscaping so pristine?)

We recently had the opportunity to go to Disney World as a couple. I had a conference in Orlando – and a Southwest Airlines gift card – so Megan met me there.

But this entry is not about us. Or Disney.

It’s about our circle. Our family and friends. Those who support us in little ways and small ways. It’s meant to be a shout out. A thank you.

My mom and dad (Don the Legend and Cindy Lou for those taking notes) watched Jude so we could get away.

To be clear, they love Jude and Miller. They never treat their time together like it’s a chore. However, they gave up time, sleep, and comfort to watch them. Caring for Jude can be demanding at times, but they gladly volunteered.

Here’s why that matters.

Megan and I are prepared to care for Jude as long as we’re able to. We don’t know what the future holds, but the reality that she’ll be with us into old age can be mentally and emotionally taxing.

A long weekend away – in Disney World or anywhere for that matter – is the ultimate mood booster. It’s a shot in the arm.

It’s good for our marriage.

It’s good for our mental state.

It’s good for our endurance.

It makes early mornings and late nights a bit easier.

So I want to thank your family – by name – for helping us.

  • Grandpa Bo

  • Mama & Papa Roussin

  • Mama & Papa Clauser

  • Erica and Larry Furry

  • Amber & Dustin Wehner

  • Taylor & Steven Barlow

  • Charley Johnson

  • Brynna, Linely, & Kamdyn Wehner

You are all loved, and we see your effort with Jude. When you’re good to her – you’re good to us.

And we’re forever grateful.

Carry one another's burdens and in this way you will fulfill the requirements of the law of Christ [that is, the law of Christian love]. Galatians 6:2.
